Dr. Matthew Varley earned a bachelor's degree in religious studies at Brown University and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Georgia. He has postgraduate training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and psychedelic integration. Dr. Varley's twelve years of clinical experience include assessment and treatment of diverse children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. He has practiced psychology in community health clinics, universities, court systems, and group and independent practice. In psychotherapy, he takes a person-centered approach drawing on humanistic, existential, mindfulness-based, and meaning-seeking philosophies of growth and change. Dr. Varley is a member of the North Carolina Psychological Association, the Open Therapy Institute, and the American Academy of Psychotherapists.
